Six unique songs take us through beginnings and endings, joy and sorrow, summer and winter. Genre: acoustic rock/modern folk, in the vein of Dar Williams, Kacey Musgraves, Ben Folds, Jill Sobule, Billie Eilish, The Decemberists. Taken from a line in A Shore Thing (My Jersey Shore), “sea salt and sawdust scent the air,” the CD title alludes to Thomas Edison’s adage, “Success is 90% perspiration and 10% inspiration.” Sea salt represents the inspiration, i.e. the beach. It also provides seasoning, and it preserves. Sawdust represents the work that went into producing this collection. Its guiding message: Embrace the sweet, erase the bitter!
